Tyranny of distance
What do you do when you live in the UK and find out one day after the event, that a very close friend, as good as family, has died - and the funeral is too soon to fly over for?

Sorry to hear about it Scott.
Hope that you are OK.
Thinking of you.

Sorry to hear your news, Scott.
Perhaps (if you can) you could fly back to be with the family in that difficult 'after the funeral' period?
Go anyway mate. Funerals are important but the hard stuff really comes after that; family and friends will be invaluable.
Sincerely sorry for your loss, Sean.
Personal ceremonies and rituals needn't be primative. The next post above seems a wise expression to this end.
Thank you for the kind supportive words, they are much appreciated.
